The last Aikido Demo we have done in 2011, this round we decided to divide the demo into 4 parts, showing we different type of Aikido in each of us. Is a event for a chinese temple held in Taman Johor Jaya. Hopefully you all enjoy watching the demo :)

New Aikido Class on Sat Night 8:00pm to 9:30pm for year 2012

My 2nd trip to Hombu Dojo Japan Part 2

So i manage to find my way to Hombu that night so i decided to go for the morning class by Doshu, waking up at 5am plus taking my big step on my way to Hombu, I was a cold morning, walking at the street at 5:30am under the cold strong wind of 8-10 degree, was a very cold one. Whole body was shlivering, i only wear an Aikido pants, a thick t-shirt and a jacket. Carrying a hot can of coffee with me. I walk the same way last night, on my way i meet a few western, seen like going to hombu, so we follow each other to the way to Hombu. Morning class was a cold one, waiting alone with no one i know in the dojo, everyone doing their own scrathing and warm up. 5 min before the class start, the dojo was silent no one talking any more. Everyone seating and waiting for the arrival of Doshu. It was a very big coward, everyone have no space to do some part of the warm up :) So we started the class.

To my suprise, is the 2nd time in my life, Doshu come in front of me asking where are you from, how many days you stay. After 30 min of training, Doshu came to me, throwing me morote-dori shihonage omote and ura, the one he show in the class just now. 3 time in my life i able to hold Doshu hand, such a wonderful feeling, that i don't know how to put it in words. He is a very humble and interesting person, you'll enjoy the class when you saw him walk around talking to some students, throwing some of us here. Wonderful experience, i could say once in a lifetime an Aikidoka should go Hombu to train, to go Doshu class to feel his teaching, simple movement yet full of understanding and small pointers in it.

My 2nd trip to Hombu Dojo Japan

My 2nd trip to Hombu dojo, it was a cold night on 19th Nov 2011 Wed, after i came back from my tour my tour guide show me the dircetion of walking to Hombu. So without a though i straight away started walking from my hotel to hombu. A lot of memory was there on the way to hombu. I seen like able to recall the previous hotel road i stay duringh my 2009 trip. So i manage to find back the previous hotel, so i try to take a new road cause seen to me is a shorter way to Hombu Dojo. Hahaha but in the end i was lost in the dark cold night, with many asking around and high spirit of wanna know the way well so i won't be late for tomorrow morning 6:30am class. I manage to find my way back to dojo. After the interesting 40 min of searching i reached this place where every Aikidoka dream of training here for at least once in their life time. So i took the photo and walk my way back to the Hotel. So confident that i wanna try about new road which i think should be a short cut, in the end i was lost again, this time 40 min lost during 10pm plus where all the shop are closed. I almost give up wanna u-turn back to Hombu and start all over again. Lucky i met a russian lady telling her i was searching for Hombu just now and lost on the way back to Hotel. Guess what she told me :) I'm from Hombu dojo also, just finish having drink with some of her friends on their 1st visit to Hombu. She had been staying and training there for 3 years. With her kind heart, she walk me back to my Hotel road :) Finally i'm back to my Hotel. Imagine lost in other city manage to find an Aikidoka from Hombu showing your way back to Hotel. Life is so interesting, that is what always make me feel so happy and good when I train Aikido, O-sensei spirit and teaching have change and help so many people around us that we don't know that we have change to a better person sometime :)

Aikido introduction clip part 2 (Johor Bahru)

Inspiration from International Friendship Seminar 2011 / Youth Meet 2011

Is another big event organised by Aikido Shinju-kai, many great Shihan and Sensei were invited, i remember my 1st time join this kind of big seminar was in 2008 where is Aikido Shinju-kai 20th Anniversary. Is a fruitful event, where we can learn from many Aikidoka around, understanding their way of doing Aikido, and understand our own weak point also. I don't really take much of the photo this round.

Training with 6th and 7th dan is very interesting :) I learn that so many things i had learn is just the basic, but in the basic there are so many detail behind it. One of the 6th Dan Sensei told me, " once you do Sankyu correctly is not longer what you call Sankyu. Every single movement in Aikido got it reason and point in it to learn....." Too deep for me, but i'm happy and learn some pointer from him. Thou i'm not the lucky one to be pick up for ukemi by the Sensei or Shihan, but training with them is nice and happy enough for me :) Hope for another big event to come soon :) I miss training so much.

Birthday suprises 2011

Year 2010, the 1st year i celebrate my birthday in the dojo, my students and my wife both bought me cake and i'm having 2 birthday cake that year :) This year the students are busy with their exam, but i'm suprises that they come to visit me before my birthday and give me these presents, so does my wife who come in with many suprises this year. I'm very happy and thankful. Thank to Aikido i manage to share and learn my life together with my students. Thou we are not the best Aikido school in Johor Bahru, not the biggest Aikido school here, and not the school who have the most numbers of members also, but our passion that each and every Instructor, Assistant Instructor, Leaders, Assistant leaders, helper and students. Show me that we love Aikido and expect each other way of learning and teaching, sharing our point of view in Aikido and things we do in life. Very thankful for the teaching my Sensei, my personal teacher and former Instructor had teach me. We are learning always, till the day we die, i hope to follow O'sensei saying, i'm still the beginner in Aikido

The Spirit of Martial Art

Don't be suprised when you saw this in the dojo, i'm not teaching neither do i learn Kendo :) This Kendo set was handed over to me by an Artist. He went to study in Japan and stay there for many years when he was young, a very friendly guy. Is the 1st time i saw him. He came to me one day to ask me some information on Aikido for his children as he plan to let his son to learn Aikido. He told me he is moving his art school, so want to find an owner for this Kendo set hand over by his Sensei from generation to generation. History for this kendo set was using during the world war period from what he told me.

He mention that many of his students and people wanna buy from him but is not for sale. So i give him an ang bao for it. The among of money inside the red packet (Secret) he told me is fated so he accept it :) He only want a martial artist that he feel he can pass it over to. So end up i'm the one for him :) He hope the spirit of pass down the martial art will continue and give me some words of encouragment for teaching Aikido.

I'm very happy on it, so i have done what he request me to do for him, hope his dream and planning for my Aikido will work.

Aikido Demo Practise for KSL City

This is our demo practise for the KSL City demo, we only did it with one rehearsal and i'm happy about it. I decided to divide the demo into 3 parts, 1st part normal aikido, 2nd part aikido without uniform and 3rd part demo i'll do the lead.

The demo class was done in Transform Gym and Martial Art, we mange to gather on one sat night to settle everything. I wanted it to be a one time training cause is not easy to gather everyone together on the same day to do it, so we manage to done it and i'm happy with it.

I make it very simple this round, i let each and everyone to know what i want to do in their part and i leave it to them to decide how they should do the demo themselves, what technique to use and i'll be the director at the side looking and changing the movement and technique if needed. The result come out was good :) Cause most of the students are new with only 1 year plus of training and their 1st Aikido demo. So we manage to settle everything within 1 hour 30 min, the whole Aikido of my demo concept was, simple, easy and sweet Aikido movement.

Shimamoto Shihan 8th dan Aikikai

Self Denfence Class with Elite Taekwondo and Hibana Bushidoo

This is my 1st time doing self defence class with Taekwondo students, thanks to Elite Taekwondo Master Liew for her help in organising this event, we always feel that all Martial Art is the same, which is peace and harmony and is always nice to share our point of view and things we learn to other Martial Artist so that we can progess and improve the same time :) I had a wonderful time that day, thank for the help by Marina, Clavin and Denise.
