Aikido introduction clip part 2 (Johor Bahru)

This is the part 2 of the Aikido Introduction clip that we have done. We hope this clip will help more people to know and understand Aikido in Johor Bahru. Inspiration from International Friendship Seminar 2011 / Youth Meet 2011

Is another big event organised by Aikido Shinju-kai, many great Shihan and Sensei were invited, i remember my 1st time join this kind of big seminar was in 2008 where is Aikido Shinju-kai 20th Anniversary. Is a fruitful event, where we can learn from many Aikidoka around, understanding their way of doing Aikido, and understand our own weak point also. I don't really take much of the photo this round.

Training with 6th and 7th dan is very interesting :) I learn that so many things i had learn is just the basic, but in the basic there are so many detail behind it. One of the 6th Dan Sensei told me, " once you do Sankyu correctly is not longer what you call Sankyu. Every single movement in Aikido got it reason and point in it to learn....." Too deep for me, but i'm happy and learn some pointer from him. Thou i'm not the lucky one to be pick up for ukemi by the Sensei or Shihan, but training with them is nice and happy enough for me :) Hope for another big event to come soon :) I miss training so much.

Birthday suprises 2011

Year 2010, the 1st year i celebrate my birthday in the dojo, my students and my wife both bought me cake and i'm having 2 birthday cake that year :) This year the students are busy with their exam, but i'm suprises that they come to visit me before my birthday and give me these presents, so does my wife who come in with many suprises this year. I'm very happy and thankful. Thank to Aikido i manage to share and learn my life together with my students. Thou we are not the best Aikido school in Johor Bahru, not the biggest Aikido school here, and not the school who have the most numbers of members also, but our passion that each and every Instructor, Assistant Instructor, Leaders, Assistant leaders, helper and students. Show me that we love Aikido and expect each other way of learning and teaching, sharing our point of view in Aikido and things we do in life. Very thankful for the teaching my Sensei, my personal teacher and former Instructor had teach me. We are learning always, till the day we die, i hope to follow O'sensei saying, i'm still the beginner in Aikido

The Spirit of Martial Art

Don't be suprised when you saw this in the dojo, i'm not teaching neither do i learn Kendo :) This Kendo set was handed over to me by an Artist. He went to study in Japan and stay there for many years when he was young, a very friendly guy. Is the 1st time i saw him. He came to me one day to ask me some information on Aikido for his children as he plan to let his son to learn Aikido. He told me he is moving his art school, so want to find an owner for this Kendo set hand over by his Sensei from generation to generation. History for this kendo set was using during the world war period from what he told me.

He mention that many of his students and people wanna buy from him but is not for sale. So i give him an ang bao for it. The among of money inside the red packet (Secret) he told me is fated so he accept it :) He only want a martial artist that he feel he can pass it over to. So end up i'm the one for him :) He hope the spirit of pass down the martial art will continue and give me some words of encouragment for teaching Aikido.

I'm very happy on it, so i have done what he request me to do for him, hope his dream and planning for my Aikido will work.

Aikido Demo Practise for KSL City

This is our demo practise for the KSL City demo, we only did it with one rehearsal and i'm happy about it. I decided to divide the demo into 3 parts, 1st part normal aikido, 2nd part aikido without uniform and 3rd part demo i'll do the lead.

The demo class was done in Transform Gym and Martial Art, we mange to gather on one sat night to settle everything. I wanted it to be a one time training cause is not easy to gather everyone together on the same day to do it, so we manage to done it and i'm happy with it.

I make it very simple this round, i let each and everyone to know what i want to do in their part and i leave it to them to decide how they should do the demo themselves, what technique to use and i'll be the director at the side looking and changing the movement and technique if needed. The result come out was good :) Cause most of the students are new with only 1 year plus of training and their 1st Aikido demo. So we manage to settle everything within 1 hour 30 min, the whole Aikido of my demo concept was, simple, easy and sweet Aikido movement.
